
Renan Gonçalves Leonel da Silva
I am an Adjunct Professor of Science, Technology & Society at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark - NJ, and affiliated scholar in two projects at Columbia University: Trust Collaboratory (Lead: Trust in Autonomous Labs Project) and Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Work (Member: AI Ethics Task Force). My research focuses on the social studies of scientific and technological systems, science and technology policy analysis, and ethics. My projects explore the emerging questions associated with the adoption of AI-powered experimentation systems in scientific discovery.
I currently serve as a co-PI of the Trans-Atlantic Platform for Social Sciences and Humanities - CoProExpert (co-funded by NSF, FAPESP and ANR), and elected Secretary of the Research Committee on Sociology of Science & Technology of the International Sociological Association (ISA).
